Mark Wahlberg stars as Chris Farraday in the upcoming thriller film entitled “Contraband”. Directed by Baltasar Kormakur and under the distribution of Universal Pictures, Contraband is an upcoming 2012 film which follows the story of a security guard who is having a problem with his finances and because of this problem, he considers a return to his smuggling ways when an associate of him offers potentially lucrative opportunity.
Chris Farraday already abandoned his life as a criminal a long time ago. However, when his brother-in-law Andy (Caleb Landry Jones) botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris was forced back into doing what he does best, and that is by running contraband. Though it was against his will, Chris is only doing this to settle Andy’s debt. He already did this before so it was expected that Chris is already used in smuggling goods. In the long run, things quickly fall apart and with only hours to reach the cash of their transaction, Chris must use his rusty skills to successfully navigate a treacherous criminal network of brutal drug lords, cops and hit men before his wife, Kate (Kate Beckinsale), and his sons become the next target.
